I think that daily homework is necessary for students. Since one years ago, I have been learning English through Skype and I do homework almost everyday. Then, I know that it really improves my English skills. Based on my experiences, I guess homework is really important for students.

First is regarding review. Actually, most of the people can't memorize what they have learned only once so I believe that homework is really important to memorize them. Of course, I review what I learn and it's really important part of learning English for me.

Second is regarding custom. About one years ago, I used to learn business skill, coaching and I got many homework. Through this classes, I got the custom of learning by myself and even now I study English spontaneously.

Third is regarding thinking by myself. Actually, through doing my homework, I can get great opportunity of thinking, solving problems by myself. I believe that thinking and solving problems by myself is one of the most important skills to live and I think doing homework brought me the excellent skill.

Through doing homework by myself, I can make great relationship with my English teachers because they always acknowledge my efforts. Then, I determined to keep doing homework and master English with my great English teachers.

Actually, I used to work for our family company and it hires some pert-time jobs. Until this July, I had been working for the company and I could get many experiences. Based on them, I think there are some important reasons for working. Here are some specific examples of them.

First is regarding contribution. Usually, working improve our society and it really stimulate our economy. Even now, I'm proud of my previous job because I could work for ensuring employment.

I prefer to travel with a companion. When I was a university student, I went on a trip with my friends and I usually travel by myself. Based on my experience, Traveling with a friend is happier than traveling by myself.

I think that the most important skill a person should learn is English proficiency. Actually, I have been learning English seriously more than two years and it's changing my life a lot. Based on my experience, English proficiency is the most valuable skill and here are some specific reasons.

First is regarding broadening someone's outlook. When I was a high school student, I enjoyed homestay and it really broadened my outlook. Actually, learning English is one of the best way to know other cultures and it would bring many experience for us.

I agree with this opinion. About two years ago, I have been studying English seriously and I can get many benefits thanks to the new technologies such as Skype and Podcasting. Based on my experience, I believe that students can learn more information and learn it more quickly.

First is regarding the Skype. Actually, I get English conversation lessons almost everyday thanks to the new communication software called Skype and it's really helpful for me to improve my English skills. Of course, I don't need to go to English conversation schools so I can save money and time so I can get more lessons.

Second is regarding the Podcasting. Have you ever heard the Podcasting system? The Podcasting is a kind of Internet radio system and I can install latest Podcast programs into my iPhone or I-pod through this system. So I can get many English information and it really improve my English skills. If I can't use this system, I should buy more English CD to study it.

Of course, attending school is a best way of learning something but it's a little difficult for busy people or who doesn't live near the school. And learning something with the new technology such as the Internet could save more money and time.

In Japan, the number of PC users is getting bigger and more than half of the people have their own PC. So I believe that learning with the new technology is more common and many people use it to improve their life.

I think that automobiles have changed people's lives a lot and it was biggest changes among them. Actually, I use a car almost everyday for commute and I usually drive a car at work. Based on my experience, I guess the advancement of car was biggest impact among them.

Second is regarding commute. Actually, there are many people who commute by car in my town and I guess that long work trip by cars changed our way of working. If we can't use cars for commute, we would not be able to come together at office of factory to work efficiently.

Of course, airplanes changed our lifestyle a lot. But compared to cars, the impact is not bigger because using car is more common for us than using airplane.

I don't agree with this opinion. I always know about bad economy through media because Japan is in recession. Through the knowledge I get, I think it's really difficult that business can hire employees for their entire lives. And here are some special reasons for that.

First is regarding products' life span. Owing to the advancement of new technology, products' life span is getting shorter. For example, In America, one of the most biggest CD stores called Tower Record went bankrupt even many people loved buying CD at the stores about 10 years go. I think it's the example of the difficulty of employment for life.

Second is regarding moral of employees. Actually, employment for life was common in Japan about 15 years ago and I guess the situation would decrease employees' moral and competitive power in the international markets. So I think employment for life could reduce Japanese productivity.

Of course, you would think that stable condition of employees in one company for long is really helpful to stabilize employees' mind but I think the careers and abilities that employees can get through career changes would also stabilize their mind.

Through this recession, many people start to think their career plan to get stable life style and I guess that the number of career changes would increase after this strict situation. And I think it would improve Japanese competitive power in the international markets.

I prefer the living of moving to search of another place. When I was a university student, I was a back-packer so I stayed many place. And I used to live in Tokyo for more than 4 years. First is regarding getting knowledge. I think that staying another place is one of the best ways to get many kinds of knowledge such as language, culture, cooking meals and so on. And I believe that it would broaden my outlook.

I oppose this plan. When I was a high school student, I used to go the high school in my community so I know the cons of this plan. There are some specific reasons for that.

First is regarding easiness of access. My community is in rural area and only we have one local station. Addition to that, train doesn't come frequent. So I think that new school would not be attractive for students.

Second is regarding falling population. In Japan, birth ratio is not enough high and the population is getting smaller. Of course, the number of students is decreasing in my hometown too. So I guess that school would not be able to get enough students.

Of course, I am really interested in how teachers teach students in that school and I want to listen to that system of education. But in this situation, that school would not be able to maintain even though the system of education is good.

People's longevity is getting longer thanks to the advancement of new technology and hygiene and so on since decades ago. Actually, I used to live with my grandmother and grandfather so I know the reasons for that. Here are some specific reasons of living longer.

First is regarding the advancement of medical technology. My grandfather had a bad health problem about his lung but his disease was really improved when he started to get new treatment. If he couldn't get this treatment, he couldn't live longer.

Second is regarding healthy foods. In Japan, there are many healthy foods to support your health. My grandmother drunk medicated liquor called Youmeishu and it was really helpful for her to maintain her healthy. I think this kinds of food is one factor of lengthen living.

Third is regarding hygiene. My grandmother told that hygiene condition about 50 years ago was really bad and it might cause spreading infectious diseases. I think governments should spend more money on improving public transportation. When I was a university students, I went to our university by a train and now I drive a car almost everyday. So I sometimes thought about the pros and the cons of both. Then, I think improving public transportation is better than improving roads and highways.

First is regarding global warming. Public transportation such as buses and trains can bring many people at one time and it's really helpful for reducing gas emission. If many people started to use public transportation, gas emission would be reduced quickly.

Second is regarding reducing deficit of Japanese and local government. Actually, our government spend a lot of money to built redundant roads even though Japanese deficit is getting bigger. If they stopped making roads and highways, they could reduce the expenditure dramatically.

Of course, constructing roads and highways can stimulate economy but in the long term, our government should spend a lot of money to maintain them and it would harm citizen life.

In Japan, new government is reducing constructing roads and highway to spend money for parents who have a child or children and I agree with this opinion. I think now is a great chance to rethink our way of living, especially transportation. Using public transportation to cut gas emission is a gift for our children in the future.

I don't agree with this opinion. I think making foods by ourselves bring us many happiness. When I was university student, I had been bought easy-prepared foods such as instant noodle and now I eat hand-made foods almost everyday because my mother cooks meals for my family. First, hand-made foods are healthier than easy-prepared foods. Usually instant foods has many chemical substances to prevent food spoiling and taking these kind of things everyday may cause health problem. I realized that my health condition was improved when I quit eating instant food very often.

Second it regarding communication among family. In my case, home-made foods bring our family many conversations. Usually our family talk about ingredients or how to cook during eating and it improves our family relationship.

Of course, cooking by ourselves takes longer time than preparation of instant foods but the cost of easy-to-prepare foods are usually higher. So I think we don't need to work longer to earn for expensive foods by eating home-made foods.

With reasons mentioned above, I prefer home-made foods. In Japan, many people think dietary education is really important for their children. I think that showing how to cook meals teaches importance of foods and appreciation of eating to their children.

I agree with this opinion because I am influenced from my parents not only habits but also the way of thinking. Regarding my friends, they look like that their parents were their first teachers. Actually I have a lot of similarity with my parents and I think there are many reasons of that.

First, parents habits easily become children's common sense. Usually children spend most of time in their house so there is no wonder that they emulate their parents' behavior and it would become their part of life. Actually, my family and I enjoy drinking beer almost everyday and have similar taste of foods.

About ten years ago, I have been studying management in university. At the time, I told with my friends about the reasons of learning our major and I knew that each people had each reason. Actually it was good opportunity for me to rethink how I would study and work in the future.

Of course, most of them had been studying for their job hunting. Getting special knowledge and skills at university would be really helpful for their work in the future. In Japan, many companies need someone who study at university and graduation of university is one of the requirements of getting good job.

Some of my friends learned their major to increase their knowledge of what they wanted to study. They really enjoyed learning and school life but most of them work for the companies don't related their majors. In my opinion, universities should provide some special classes to help students to connect what they want to learn and their job in the future.

About me, I should took over my family company at that time so I took management as my major. For working my family company, I should become a expertise of management. Thus I could keep motivation highly at university.

Above reasons, I think there were many reasons to study majors at university and each person had each reason. So I want to suggest that university should provide some orientation for students to clarify their reasons of learning their majors. I guess that class would keep students motivation highly and create better future.

Southern island called Ko Tao and whale shark

I was really interested in scuba diving but it is a little expensive for me in Japan. So I learned how to scuba in Thailand because it is very reasonable!!

Southern island called Ko Tao is really famous for great diving spots and I really enjoy watching so many fishes.

At first, I planed that I would get only license called Open Water License but I changed my mind. Yes, I got advanced license, too.

When I was learning how to take pictures under the water to get this license, fortunately I could meet whale shark !!

I could swim with whale shark about 5 minutes and it was impressive experience for me!!

Thanks to this excellent encounter, I really like scuba diving now !!

Yes, I will go many places to encounter many kinds of fishes :)

Watching solar eclipse in Shanghai

During this summer vacation, I went to Shanghai and Thailand. I chose Shanghai as the place for transit of air plain so the ticket cost became more reasonable. Of course, I staid Shanghai to watch solar eclipse but unfortunately I could not watch it because rain started when the sun became half ....

Even though I couldn't watch total eclipse, I felt that how sky and space were huge because I watched sky for long time. And I realized that how small I am and this feeling taught me that many people always help me....
This experience broadened my outlook a lot and I think that I have to have a grateful heart for everyone and everything...

Of course, I enjoyed sightseeing a lot such as visiting Chinese old garden, visiting highest observation deck in the world, watching Chinese acrobatic group and especially eating Shanghai crab. ( I'm sorry that I forgot taking pictures of Shanghai crab...orz)

Today is last day of Thai massage general course and I could pass the test to graduate. Actually, it is a little difficult for me to remember all procedures but I could do thanks to good teachers and friends. This experience broadened my outlook and gave me great memories. Since 7 months ago, I have been training accelerated reading at website "Spreed news". There are many kinds of articles to train speed reading and I always choose "life hacker". Because I like reading tips about how to improve my daily life and I can more concentrate than when I read other articles.

Last Sunday, I took English Language Proficiency Test to know my English level. At the time I was surprised that my reading speed was improved rapidly thanks to this website. So I was wondering that I should write journals about "life hacker" to improve my concentration of accelerated reading.
