If you could change one important....

Write your opinion about the topic below.

Topic: If you could change one important thing about your hometown,
what would you change? Use reasons and specific examples to support your
answer.

=====

 If I could change one important thing about my hometown, I will start free movie theater that operated our local government. And I believe that it would activate local economy and provide new way of learning through great movies. I think it's best way and there are many reason to support my idea.

 First is regarding local economy. In Japan, there are many huge store in suburb area and it really attract people so most of people don't come to shopping to my home town. If movie theater provide great movies at free, many people would come to watch and buy something near movie theater. Then, my home town would be more active than before.

 Second is regarding education. There are many really life-enriching movies in the world. But we usually don't watch these movies because mass media always provide us a lot of commercial movies. And they prevent great encounter with good movies. If this theater provide life-enriching movies, my hometown's people would get great knowledge of our life.

 Of course, free movie theater is really expensive but if the old movie theater that went bankrupt would be used, the cost could become lower. And I believe that our local economy activity would compensate this cost soon.

 In my hometown there are many stores in bankruptcy even if near our local station. On the other hand, there are some really lively town that could change themselves to become attractive in Japan. So I believe that each town should find their best way to show their originality to attract many people.

A company has announced that....

Write your opinion about the topic below.

Topic: A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.

=====

 I support this plan. Of course, I know there are many pros and cons but I think the advantage of this plan is lager than disadvantage of that. Because my family has small factory in my community and I used to work there so I know many pros about building factory.

 First is regarding local economy. the factory that planed to build would create many jobs in the future and it would stimulate local economy. Actually my family company's factory employs many people and the salary from that company support their life even though that factory is not big.

 Second is about commute time. In Japan, many people spend a lot of time to go to their work place and it reduce the time that they can spend with their family. If the factory would be built in our community, the employees don't need spend a lot of time to go their work space and they could improve the relationship with their family thanks to the factory near their home.

 Of course, this factory may cause pollution and damage environment. But even if the land that planned to built the factory would used for agriculture, some chemical substances that used for agriculture may cause pollution also. I think that development of new technology could prevent any contamination of that factory.

 In my home town, many shops and companies went bankrupt because they were out of step with the times. I think building factory would stimulate local economy and activity of local economy would create better future.

Write your opinion about the topic below.

Topic: It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is
contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with
knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which sources more important?
Why?

=====

 For me, knowledge gained from experience is more valuable than knowledge gained from books. Of course, I like reading books and I think it's one of the best way of learning something. Since two years ago I have been studying English seriously and it teaches me the importance of real experience.

 First is regarding memorizing. Actually I read many books to improve my English grammar but talking with native English speaker is best way for me to learn English language construction. Real experience of English conversation always give me strong impression and it help my memorizing.

 Secondly, its regarding practicality, one of my native English friends said that the English in Japanese text book is too old fashioned and it's not natural. Even if the book was established lately, the knowledge of books is not practical compared to real experience.

 Of course, reading books is very efficient way of learning. Actually I can get many information by only reading books and usually cost of books are not expensive. But I think that we should use the knowledge gained from reading books to understand it deeply and this real experience would improve my studying more.

 With reasons mentioned above, I prefer real experience. Lately thanks to new technology, I can get good knowledge gained from experience through the Internet. Almost everyday I talk with native English speakers by computer application called Skype so I think that new technology would bring us new way of learning.

Food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved ...

Write your opinion about the topic below.

Topic: Nowadays, food has become easier to prepare. Has this change
improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your
answer.

=====

 I don't agree with this opinion. I think making foods by ourselves bring us many happiness. When I was university student, I had been bought easy-prepared foods such as instant noodle and now I eat hand-made foods almost everyday because my mother cooks meals for my family. So I know the pros of hand-made foods and cons of instant foods.

 First, hand-made foods are healthier than easy-prepared foods. Usually instant foods has many chemical substances to prevent food spoiling and taking these kind of things everyday may cause health problem. I realized that my health condition was improved when I quit eating instant food very often.

Second it regarding communication among family. In my case, home-made foods bring our family many conversations. Usually our family talk about  ingredients or how to cook during eating and it improves our family relationship.

Of course, cooking by ourselves takes longer time than preparation of instant foods but the cost of easy-to-prepare foods are usually higher. So I think we don't need to work longer to earn for expensive foods by eating home-made foods.

 With reasons mentioned above, I prefer home-made foods. In Japan, many people think dietary education is really important for their children. I think that showing how to cook meals teaches importance of foods and appreciation of eating to their children.

Parents are the best teachers.

Write your opinion about the topic below.

Topic:  Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Points: Habit / Way of thinking / Education / Experience / Stability of mind / Friend

=====

 I agree with this opinion because I am influenced from my parents not only habits but also the way of thinking. Regarding my friends, they look like that their parents were their first teachers. Actually I have a lot of similarity with my parents and I think there are many reasons of that.

 First, parents habits easily become children's common sense. Usually children spend most of time in their house so there is no wonder that they emulate their parents' behavior and it would become their part of life. Actually, my family and I enjoy drinking beer almost everyday and have similar taste of foods.

 Second is about communication. I think every children learn something through the conversation with their parents and it would create children's way of thinking. For example, my sister's attitude of mind is similar to my father's and I think a lot of communication of them would make her way of thinking.

 Of course, children's friends could become big imposing teachers for them. But I guess this impact is not strong compared to their parents because the amount of communication is smaller than parents' one.

 With the reasons mentioned above, parents are the best teachers for their children. Pro golf player Ryo Ishikawa who is one of the best golf players in Japan is really famous and his father teaches him on how to play golf even though his father is neither professional of playing nor professional of  teaching golf. This family always teaches me the ideal relationship of family.

Reasons of learning at univesity

Write your opinion about the topic below.

Topic:  People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Points: new experiences / career preparation / increased knowledge / expertise / intellectual curiosity

=====
 About ten years ago, I have been studying management in university. At the time, I told with my friends about the reasons of learning our major and  I knew that each people had each reason. Actually it was good opportunity for me to rethink how I would study and work in the future.

 Of course, most of them had been studying for their job hunting. Getting special knowledge and skills at university would be really helpful for their work in the future. In Japan, many companies need someone who study at university and graduation of university is one of the requirements of getting good job.

 Some of my friends learned their major to increase their knowledge of what they wanted to study. They really enjoyed learning and school life but most of them work for the companies don't related their majors. In my opinion, universities should provide some special classes to help students to connect what they want to learn and their job in the future.

 About me, I should took over my family company at that time so I took management as my major. For working my family company, I should become a expertise of management. Thus I could keep motivation highly at university.

 Above reasons, I think there were many reasons to study majors at university and each person had each reason. So I want to suggest that university should provide some orientation for students to clarify their reasons of learning their majors. I guess that class would keep students motivation highly and create better future.
