announced that a large shopping center may be built in your

 I don't support this plan. In our hometown, many stores were on the state of bankruptcy, even most of the stores were near local train station. That's the reason why a large shopping center was built and it really attract customers. Actually, I have been watching that situation for long so I'm oppose to building a large shopping center. And here are some specific reasons for that.

 First is regarding special knowledge of shop staff. Most of small stores in our hometown continue more than decades so their staff's knowledge about their goods is excellent. Of course, a large shopping center's staff would learn about their goods but their knowledge would not be able to surpass small shop staff's knowledge.

 Second is regarding color of local town. In Japan, some cities could become really attractive by developing their personality and I think that developing the originality of our hometown would be really helpful to attract many people. And I think that building a large store would disrupt it.

 Of course, usually big shopping centers offer goods at reasonable prices but compared to local small stores, their supports for their goods are not enough after customers buy.

 Not only large shopping centers but also internet shopping websites such as Amazon attract many customers and the sales of local stores are depressed. So we should find good ways to become local stores more attractive.
